The Spotted Dog – A Tail of Yarn
Recently returning to the craft business, Liz Tanner is inspired by yarns of all shapes, sizes and materials, and crochets unique Signature Hats, often from unusual ‘yarns’, as well as funky everyday Fingerless Mitts, Boot Toppers, Felted Knitted Brooches and delicate cotton motif greetings cards. Liz crochets at her stall and is happy to give crochet tips and demonstrate crochet techniques, as well as sharing her journey as a new spinner with an old spinning wheel!
Slumbermonkey Designs is based in North Dorset and sells a range of quirkily illustrated jewellery as well as colourful prints, cards, gift wrap and homewares. Inspiration comes from animals and nature as well as a mid-century aesthetic and often explores the power of words. All designs are original and reflect an individual and playful approach to the world.
Linda Williams is the designer behind NDIEH’S Designs.
Her sewing skills were picked up from watching her Mum who loved making dresses for her kids and herself.
With her training in Finance, doing craft work gives her a break from balancing the books, so she can get lost in her magical world of creations.
What pushed that drive in recent years was a combination of the joys of creativity and a heartache of life experiences.
NDIEH’S Designs is a work in progress which Linda uses as a medium to convey her messages… “You can live again”, “You can do it too”, and “Don’t let the loss of the most precious thing steal your joy”.
Linda designs all the fabrics she uses to create her products.

If children don't like or want braids there will be the option for coloured hair chalk. This will be charged at £1 per child.
I will also be selling friendship bracelets and create your own bracelets. This varies in prices.
Boathouse Studio designs and creates a range of primarily leather bracelets and necklaces, from our coastal studio in Hampshire. Our goal is to produce pieces which are infinitely wearable, high quality and affordable. We are constantly producing new designs, refreshing our range with new materials, colours and accessories as they become available. It is likely that any purchase made is one of a limited edition and therefore fairly unique.
Our jewellery is created with ethically-sourced quality leather in a wide range of colours, these beautiful accessories mellow over time in much the same way as the sea shapes the coastline.
Moments Candles are made using eco soy wax and the finest fragrance oils. They are Environmentally friendly and the vessels (tins and glasses can all be washed clean of the last remnants of soy wax and be reused for any purpose. Soy wax is made from soy beans which does not increase the Co2 level into the atmosphere like paraffin waxes do. With a soy wax candle you get a clean burn (no soot). The candles have a slow even burn and so they burn all the way across and do not waste any wax, plus they are long lasting, thus making them cost effective. Soy wax candles are healthier and safer as the wax does not get as hot and it also easy to clean up with soap and water should anyone spill their candle wax.
Peeking Duck Ltd
After years working in Asia, the south of UK & London, I decided to go for a radical life change and come out of the corporate world, and set up at home doing something I love. After completing a course at Uni, Peeking Duck was born in 2018. Handmade Silver Jewellery, with a heavy influence from a former life in the Far East and the local Dorset countryside. - Natalie, Director & Designer
There comes a point in life where you feel the need for change. Somethings will nudge you, others will inspire you. I came to that point 2 1/2 years ago, and although I was happy in what I was doing, I felt the need to try something completely different. After completing a course at Uni, I fell in love with silversmithing and started to make a few things, buy new tools, notice more inspirations. With a heavy influence of a past life living and working in Asia, and the beautiful surrounding coastline and forests I started to design and before I knew it, was bitten by the bug of ‘The Maker’. I love what I do, and feel more rewarded than ever when a piece you have made brings a smile or a tear of joy. I feel truly blessed to be able to do this and purchase all my silver from bullion and reputable suppliers. I am now a registered jeweller in the UK, and with my hallmark registered, am a fully fledged jewellery maker.
Roo-tid is nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the New Forest, Dorset which is the main inspiration behind our products and designs. Each illustration originates from forest walks, muddy adventures and the odd ‘sunshine’ stroll; all while snapping away to capture the often unnoticed moments in our otherwise busy world.
From the owl that hoots in our wooded garden to the cheeky woodpecker that strolls up the office path and the forever busy blue tits that eat us out of house and home. Each hand drawn illustration and pattern offers a quick glimpse into the simple lives of our wild neighbours.
We are proud to say each product is designed, printed and manufactured in the UK, using reactive inks on 100% cotton for high quality finished textiles and eco-friendly toners on papers originating from responsibly managed forests.
Our parting gift to each item is for it to be lovingly packaged, no matter where it's destination, so either gift yourself or a loved one and bring a little of the outdoors into your home!
The Princess and The Pickle
Based in Hampshire, The Princess and The Pickle create eco-friendly greeting cards and gifts, featuring original photography and designs (many of which are inspired by the New Forest). All cards are printed on recycled card, with recycled paper envelopes and displayed in biofilm plastic-free presentation sleeves.
Wendy lives by the sea just south of the New Forest. She is a self-trained watercolour artist and illustrator and loves creating quirky images of her local area quite literally with a bit of a twist, and also children's illustrations which are influenced by the wildlife and countryside around her. Her work is full of colour, detail, life and humour. It is designed to make people smile and to look into the images and enjoy the quirky details. Most of Wendy's artwork can be bought as limited edition giclee prints, but is also available on greetings cards, coasters, place mats, porcelain mugs, keyhangers, lamp shades, tea towels, fridge magnets and children's mugs.
Michael Forester is a deafened author who lives in the New Forest with his hearing dog, Matt. Michael has published seven books, whose scope range from Dragonsong (an epic Arthurian fantasy), through If It Wasn’t For That Dog (the story of his first year with Matt), to his latest release, One Journey, a 'Blue Planet' style travelogue, exploring conservation issues and economic growth in the third world. Michael completed his second international public speaking and book-signing tour in 2018, visiting Cambodia, Thailand and the Philippines. His tour, to China, is scheduled for 2020.
Full details of Michael’s writing and public speaking are on his web site: www.michaelforester.co.uk
